Skogen is a pattern inspired by the Swedish concept of ‘allemansrtten’, everyman’s right to roam in nature. In Sweden this includes the right to hike across or camp on someone’s land, boat on their waters and pick wildflowers, mushrooms and berries – provided you cause no harm or disturbance, leave no litter, nor damage wildlife or crops. This universal right applies to everyone, which is symbolically depicted here by the noble elk, the king of the forest, in dialogue with the humble raven.
